Every Damn Monday

You’re probably wondering where I am going with this and how can it be an adventure.  So, a year after I moved to Nashville each summer the talented Charlie Worsham set up a residency somewhere in town and plays every Monday.  He puts together a talented band and invites talented friends to join him for a song or two.  So last night was the first night of Every Damn Monday for the month of July at The Basement East.  The theme of the night was Classic Country, yep reliving the past.  Charlie and the band played some classics by Vince Gill, Merle Haggard, Little Jimmy Dickens, and Ronnie Milsap to name a few.  Oh, the Glenn Campbell “Rhinestone Cowboy” was awesome! Seth Ennis was his first guest who did a cover of Alan Jackson’s Chattahoochee.  Brandon Lancaster of the group Lanco came out and did a couple Brooks and Dunn covers.  Then Bobby Bones (radio DJ and author) came out and did a few covers.  Then Brandon, Bobby, and Charlie did Meet in the Middle by Diamond Rio.  Charlie then closed the night out playing a few more songs as he passed a bucket around since this is a $5 show and they are raising money for his Follow Your Heart Foundation.  The foundation is to provide scholarships for students who are interested in the arts in Charlie’s hometown of Grenada, Mississippi.  Charlie has a tattoo that says Follow Your Heart and has written a book with that title, which I am sorry to say I have not read yet.  I will let you research or read the book to find out where this phrase comes from.  So, if you happen to be in Nashville this month be sure to stop in The Basement East to join the fun (July 9, July 16, July 23 and July 30).  You won't be able to find a better deal.  The theme for July 9th is Lynyrd Skynyrd and there will be some awesome guests. If you’re not familiar with Charlie’s music do yourself a favor and check him out (http://www.charlieworsham.com/?frontpage=true).  Until the next adventure!
